Plane coincidence

Unfortunately, a gentleman from my company (based in the D.C. area) died in yesterday's commuter jet crash in Kentucky. As I read the news via work e-mail, a co-worker came into my office and handed us each a small, toy plane. I saw the words, "August 2006," and was a little bit spooked.

It turns out that in a strange coincidence, my employer had toy planes (printed with a Web address) made to promote our redesigned intranet site's launch. Of all days, today they hand us planes.

Very sad. But, uh, they felt the need to hand out toys to promote an INTRANET? An internal company website? Doesn't it seem a little silly to be spending money to promote internal company work?

A-

Well, I guess the intranet had fallen out of use, so they were excited to show us employees how helpful they had made it....

Hey Cap'n! Have you seen the documentary 100% Woman, about downhill racer and transgendered woman Michelle Dumaresq?

La Gringa,
Nope, haven't seen the film yet. Eventually I will. But I did ride with her on a chairlift once. She was really nice.
