Last night I met Joan Jett in D.C.

I met Joan Jett for the first time last night! It was a dream come true! Yada yada.

I posted a couple Joan photos on Flickr here. I look horrible in the one with Joan. I have this amazing knack for displaying my neck fat when a rock star is present. (See the me-and-Juliette-Lewis photo and you'll understand my proven talent.)

The show was a lot of fun. I wish I had worn my glasses so I could actually see Joan's face properly when she and the Blackhearts were playing. Since I couldn't really make out the details of her face (even though I know darn well what she looks like), I started picturing the face of a woman who works in my office building who has similar hair. It really ruined it for me. Her face on Joan's body--nooooo!

Given the Secret Service bust waking me up in the middle of the night, I am too beat to blog about the Joan thing. My eyes are burning from being awake too much last night. Maybe tomorrow?

Wow! Great photos. Joan Jett looks in prime shape. She looks twice as young as she did back in the 80s.

And don't worry about that neck fat thing. We all have it.

I've had a catering/chef gig on the Warped Tour for a few years now, and this summer Joan Jett was on most of the tour.

She and her manager were just fucking awesome--extremely down to earth, personable and caring. They'd hand out $100 bills to catering, and frequently gave gifts of delicious contraband (unlike most of the Warped Tour "rockers," such as the faux french fucks from Simple Plan).

Nearly every night she requested the same meal--two boca burgers, with ketchup, mustard, lettuce, tomato and red onion.

She was always carrying a velvet bag of flightless white doves (flightless because she wrapped rubber bands around them), which she would release at random intervals. And during twilight hours her body was surrounded by a purplish-orange luminescence--an aura if you will—whose hypnotic glow engendered many, many blood sacrifices. She also smelled of lavender.

My memory is kinda’ fuzzy though—whole lotta’ coke on that tour.

Hey, Meg, what's up? Thanks for finding my blog.

Thanks so much for snapping that shot of us. It was special to us (as a couple) to have both of us in a shot with Joan. Thanks a ton! Now too bad I don't know how to pose with beautiful people, huh?

Good luck with your composition classes at Catholic U! You can drop me an e-mail if you want. Address is on the right-hand side.

Take care,
-Capt. Jack
